Job description
Purpose and Scope This position is responsible for professional instructions during Summer Learning Academy designed to provide academic, social, physical, and skills development for students in specific grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers in the 21st century.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and an endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate. Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement. The following special conditions are required: Commitment for the entire period of Spring school and attendance at the Spring School graduation. May involve missing some district training opportunities. Attendance at ALL preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings. Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract to participate in Summer Learning Academy setup and preparation. Availability for Summer Learning Academy closeout operations which may occur after the new academic year contract has started. This position is for SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY ONLY. Degree Equivalency Formula: Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
