Early Head Start Assistant Teacher

The assistant teacher will support the classroom teacher by assisting with educational services for low-Income and special needs children, which includes implementing daily lesson plans, maintaining the classroom environment, and keeping necessary records. Essential duties also involve ensuring continuous child safety, utilizing a positive behavior intervention and support approach, and participating in parent engagement activities like meetings and open houses.

Candidates should possess a child development associate (Cda) credential, or preferably an associate's or higher degree in early childhood education or a related field, along with experience in an early childhood education setting. Necessary abilities include effectively working with diverse populations of children and families, using positive behavior guidance, maintaining required certifications like first aid/Cpr and a food handler's card, and possessing a valid driver's license.
