Job description

Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, rehabilitation services, special education, early childhood education, secondary education, family and consumer sciences, criminal justice, or human growth and development; or b. Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minor in counseling, social work, sociology, or psychology; or c. Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older as of January 1, 2022, have a high school diploma or equivalency, and have been continuously employed by a licensed and accredited agency providing PSR services since prior to January 1, 2019.
Job Duties
- PSR Services
- Reports to LMHP or designee
- Provide services in community locations where the client lives, works, attendsschool and/or socializes in addition to or instead of at the licensed entity
- Assist the client in developing social and interpersonal skills to:
oIncrease community tenure
oEnhance personal relationships
oEstablish support networks
oIncrease community awareness
- oDevelop coping strategies and effective functioning in the individual'ssocial environment
- Assist the client with developing daily living skills to improve self-managementof the negative effects psychiatric or emotional symptoms that interfere with aperson's daily living
- Implement learned skills so the client can remain in a natural community locationand achieve developmentally appropriate functioning
- Assist the client with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursorsor triggers that result in functional impairments
- CPST
- Provide services in community locations where the client lives, works, attendsschool and/or socializes in addition to or instead of at the licensed entity
- Provide CPST services with the client present
- Provide services to minimize the negative effects of the symptoms, emotionaldisturbances or associated environmental stressors which interfere with the client'sdaily living
- Provide individual supportive counseling, solution focused interventions, emotionaland behavioral management, and problem behavior analysis with the client
- Participates in and utilizes strengths-based planning and treatments, that includesidentifying strengths and needs, resources, natural supports and developing goalsand objectives to address functional deficits associated with the client's mentalillness
- Provides restoration, rehabilitation, and support to develop skills to locate, rent andkeep a home
- Assist the client with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors ortriggers that would risk the client remaining in a natural community location
- Assist in the development of daily living skills specific to managing a home; and
- Assist the client and family members to identify strategies or treatment options associatedwith the client's mental illness
- Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read andunderstand information presented in writing
- Refer inquiries to appropriate staff, agencies, or organizations
- Speak clearly, concisely, and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideasas presented verbally
- Other Responsibilities
- After hours phone rotation
- Attend all mandatory trainings, meeting, monthly supervisions unless excused byimmediate supervisor
- Transporting clients while providing services
- Clients are distributed throughout the region we service, consideration will be givenbased on your home address
- Submit notes on assigned day (s) per company policy
- Use cultural competency while meeting with client (s)
- Be able to perform assigned job duties in a variety of different home and communityenvironments and weather conditions
