Family Medicine Residency Faculty Physician (MD/DO)Position Summary The Family Medicine Residency Faculty Physician provides comprehensive clinical care and medical education within a family medicine residency training program. This role combines direct patient care with teaching, supervision, mentorship, and curriculum development, supporting the training of residents while delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Duties and Responsibilities
Provide full-spectrum family medicine care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings consistent with program scope Supervise, teach, and evaluate family medicine residents in clinical settings Participate in resident education including didactic teaching, bedside instruction, and procedural training Serve as a clinical preceptor for resident continuity clinics Mentor residents in professional development, career planning, and scholarly activities Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and program evaluation Contribute to resident assessment, milestone evaluations, and clinical competency committees Participate in call coverage, inpatient service, or obstetric care as required by the program Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty, advanced practice providers, and staff Engage in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives Participate in scholarly activity, research, or academic projects as appropriate Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Comply with ACGME, institutional, and professional standards
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program Board-eligible or board-certified in Family Medicine Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure Eligibility for hospital credentialing and faculty appointment Prior teaching or academic experience preferred Skills and Competencies Broad clinical expertise in family medicine Strong teaching, mentorship, and communication skills Commitment to graduate medical education and resident development Ability to balance clinical, educational, and administrative responsibilities Interest in quality improvement and evidence-based practice Work Environment Family medicine residency clinic, hospital inpatient units, and educational settings Schedule includes clinical care, teaching responsibilities, and academic activities Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical and educational environments Manual dexterity for clinical examinations and procedures Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient care and teaching
