Description Description Immaculate Conception School is seeking a caring and dependable Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Aide to support the classroom teacher in the daily operations of the Pre-Kindergarten program. This role involves working closely with the teacher to foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where young children can learn and grow. The aide assists with instructional support, classroom management, and the overall care of students, following the direction of the lead teacher.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in preparing materials and resources for daily lessons, activities, and projects. Help organize and maintain classroom spaces to support the curriculum and promote a positive learning environment. Student Assistance: Provide individual and small-group support to students, assisting with classwork, activities, and daily routines. Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement. Classroom Management: Support the teacher in maintaining a structured and orderly classroom. Reinforce behavior expectations and assist with transitions and non-instructional times.

Supervision

Assist in supervising students during lunch, recess, rest time, and other school activities. Ensure students follow school rules and remain safe at all times.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with the classroom teacher, students, and staff. Share observations regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Record
  • Keeping: Assist in tracking attendance, behavior, and student progress as directed. Help organize classroom materials, student work, and records.
  • Health and
  • Safety: Support students’ physical needs, including bathroom routines and hygiene practices. Follow all school health and safety protocols and respond appropriately to minor injuries.

Collaboration

Work as part of the PreK/Kindergarten team to support a cohesive and positive educational experience for all students. Expectations Follow all guidelines outlined in the Immaculate Conception School Employee Handbook. Maintain punctual and reliable attendance. If delayed, notify the lead teacher and administration promptly. Limit use of personal technology during the school day unless directly related to classroom responsibilities. Assist with classroom cleanup after activities, including free choice and snack time. Attend all required staff meetings. Assist with weekly folders. Support dismissal procedures alongside the lead teacher.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education or a related field preferred. Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children. Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic understanding of early childhood development is preferred.
