About the role

The instructor will provide didactic and laboratory instruction to medical assistant students while supervising their clinical practice. Additionally, the role involves maintaining laboratory equipment and assisting with curriculum revisions.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant Instructor that will teach courses (didactic) and Laboratory skills as assigned, support student education with instruction of skills and supervision of practice, and contribute to ongoing curriculum revisions. This position reports to the Director of Health Care Programs.

Example of Duties

  • Provide instruction and supervision with clinical skills for medical assistant students in the college laboratory setting.
  • Support student education with supervision of practice.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with oversight of students during clinical rotation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with AAS Degree

  • OR
  • Medical Assistant with National Certification in Medical assisting and minimum of 2 years experience; Associates degree preferred
  • College-level teaching experience preferred, community college preferred
  • Experience working with diverse populations preferred

Supplemental Information • Teach day class

  • Monday/Wednesday: 9AM-1PM
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 9AM-11:30AM

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation

Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $35-$50.

  • New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)

Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with an AAS degree or a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant with at least two years of experience. College-level teaching experience and experience working with diverse populations are preferred.
