Group Exercise Instructor I

The group exercise instructor is responsible for conducting land and/Or water exercise classes, including appropriate music selection, class setup/Takedown, and educating participants about the coach approach® and wellness issues. They must also maintain all required certifications and adhere to ymca policies and safety guidelines.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or ged and be at least 18 years old, with potentially less than one year of teaching experience. Required certifications include cpr/Aed, and specific ymca/Ace group exercise instructor certifications must be obtained within 60 days of hire, depending on whether the role is land or water-Based.
