Who We Are

Yachad, a division of The Orthodox Union, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish organization‚ supports individuals with intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities. Yachad helps these individuals participate more fully in Jewish life and the broader society by providing educational, employment, and relationship opportunities. The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary

This part-time role provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities during program activities, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment. The position requires availability 2–3 weekday evenings (Monday–Thursday, 4:30–7:30 PM) and two Sundays per month (2:00–4:00 PM or 5:00–7:00 PM), totaling approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Working with individuals to facilitate engagement during programs Implementing group activities for participants Communicate with supervisor as well as parents & community liaison Foster positive relationships between individuals served and the community Ensures the safety of participants during programs Encourages participants to be independent in their daily tasks Job Requirements: A desire to work with adults with disabilities Ability to provide positive motivation to others Must be caring, dedicated, responsible, and patient HS diploma, GED, or equivalent Salary: The salary range for this position is $25 an hour.
