Swim Instructor

The swim instructor is responsible for conducting swimming instruction following national aquatic ymca programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Essential functions include teaching aquatic skills, maintaining equipment, supervising participants, and enforcing safety standards.

Candidates need six months to one year of relevant experience or equivalent training, and must be at least sixteen years old with the ability to demonstrate aquatic skills and react quickly in emergencies. Required certifications include swim instructor certification, cpr, first aid, and aed-Oxygen within specified timeframes, along with a state of michigan criminal background clearance.
