LSC seeks two Scholar Support Specialists to support K-12 student development in academic, social-emotional, and college/career domains while also being the chief leader of career navigation experiences for our scholars across all three campuses

Key duties include individual/small-group counseling, classroom guidance, parent consultation, and collaborating with staff. One position will be based fully at the Sumter Mall Campus while the other will provide counseling support at the PA & EA campuses.

EA/JA Position

Requires a Master’s degree and valid SC certification in school counseling will guide middle school students by promoting quality career development, assessing skills, and connecting them with community resources. Key duties include managing computer-assisted guidance systems, assisting with career interest inventories, and developing parent/student resources. A valid Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certificate is required.

  • Engagement: Coordinates community resources representing various occupations to enhance student career development.

  • Admin: Utilizes computer-assisted guidance systems and maintains records to align with district goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree.
  • Certification: Valid South Carolina educator certification in School Counseling, licensed Social Worker, or School Psychologist (Elementary or Secondary) Required
