Direct support professionals (Dsp) provide services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on enriching their lives and supporting independent living skills. They assist with daily living activities, health maintenance, and advocate for the individuals they support.

Candidates must demonstrate skills outlined in the nys dsp core competencies and have experience with clinically challenged individuals. A bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively and respond to emergencies.
