The Student Shadower participates in a short-term observational experience designed to introduce individuals age 16 and over to careers in healthcare. This role provides exposure to the healthcare environment by observing UAMS employees or faculty members in approved settings, while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality, safety, and professional conduct standards.
The Student Shadower is not an employee of UAMS and does not perform work duties or receive compensation.
Observation only; no hands-on patient care or performance of duties typically assigned to UAMS employees or healthcare providers
Participation is limited to a department-approved timeframe not to exceed a total of 32 hours.
Access is restricted to approved locations and activities as determined by the department.
Participation in the job shadowing program is at the discretion of the hosting department and may be modified or terminated at any time. Approval to participate does not guarantee access to any specific area, role, or future educational or employment opportunity with UAMS.
