Job description
- Make a Difference in the Lives of At-Risk Youth The Granite YMCA is seeking a compassionate and motivated support teacher (or YSTAY Enrichment Specialist) that will work inside of the Manchester and Concord middle and high schools supporting the YSTAY Teachers in their classrooms.
- This position works in conjunction with the YMCA Teachers to support students who are at risk of failing classes, chronic truancy, or dropping out of school.
- This role is part of our YYouth Matters initiative and is designed to empower youth to succeed academically, socially, and personally.
- As a YSTAY Enrichment Specialist, you’ll provide tutoring, mentorship, and life skills programming to help students improve their GPA, build positive relationships, resist risky behaviors, and prepare for a brighter future.

- What You’ll Do: Provide tutoring and classroom support for middle and high school students Assist YSTAY Teachers with lesson plans focused on life skills, prevention, and character development Substitute in YSTAY classrooms when needed Track and report student progress (academic, behavior, attendance) Plan and participate in monthly adventure trips and special activities Build strong relationships with students, families, and school staff Support fundraising and community service projects What We’re Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent (required) At least 2 years of experience working with youth; experience with at-risk youth preferred Ability to tutor grades 8–12 in core subjects (math, science, social studies, language arts) Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) Comfort with technology (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, tablets) Position Specifics: Average approximately 30hours/week Must be able to work a consistent schedule during school hours Why Work for the Y?
