The Social Worker will provide interventions and support services for preschool children, including individual and group counseling, social skills training, and family advocacy. They will also conduct evaluations and collaborate with families and educational teams to support children's needs.
ACLD’s Preschool Education Programs at Kramer Learning Center and The Alan and Ellen Spiegel Children’s Center are designed to meet the individual needs of young children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Quality education and therapeutic services are provided during school hours by a highly trained, dedicated staff of professionals.
ACLD is looking for a Social Worker or Licensed School Psychologist- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred to provide interventions and support services for preschool children which are critical to the child's success in their educational program. Delivers direct and indirect services such as individual/group and family counseling, parent training, play therapy, child/family advocacy, crisis intervention and information/referral services.
Master’s Degree and Licensure as a School Social Worker in NY State or Master’s Degree (60 Credits) in School Psychology – NY State Certification.
Experience working with developmentally delayed children.
Experience working with community resources, i.e. Child Protective Services, Department of Social Services
Knowledge of behavior management techniques
Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending, and lifting children as needed.
