Position Summary
The Department of Individual, Family, & Community Education seeks to hire temporary part-time faculty to teach in the fields of Nutrition, Counselor Education, Educational Psychology, and Family and Child Studies.
- The Department of IFCE houses four diverse, but interconnected, programs that prepare students to address the myriad issues faced by the State of New Mexico.
- Our faculty members are leaders in their disciplines of Counselor Education, Educational Psychology, Family and Child Studies, and Nutrition; although each of these programs reflect different professional fields and identities, we all have shared values of human development, diversity, and excellence in scholarship and teaching.
- Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment, course offering, and demand driven by graduation requirements.
- Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.
- Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the IFCE Department Chair.
- These positions will remain open until filled.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1.Master’s in Nutrition, Counselor Education, Family and Child Studies, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
1.Doctoral or scholarly work in an area relevant to the course. 2.Potential to teach online or certification or experience in online teaching. 3.Potential to teach or demonstrated ability to teach at the college level. 4.A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities. 5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
