Special Education Teacher, [Extended Content Standards]

The special education teacher coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for special education students, developing and implementing individual education programs (Ieps). They monitor student progress, employ various teaching methods, and maintain a conducive learning environment.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and hold or be eligible for a north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area. Extensive knowledge of instructional practices and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff are essential.
