The speech language pathologist administers speech therapy to patients in their place of residence, improving communication and helping individuals return to productive living. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, consulting with physicians, and instructing patients and families in home programs.

Candidates must have a master's or doctoral degree in speech language pathology and be licensed in the state of practice. Two years of experience is preferred, along with completion of clinical practicum and a national examination.
