  • Responsibilities: Assists with developing, conducting and supervising education for pre-hospital and hospital personnel. Assists with Coordination of Continuing Education at Advocate Sherman Hospital. 1)Assists in providing initial education of EMT-P students. 2)Assists in the writing and planning of the education calendar annually. 3)Assists in supervising/conducting monthly ECRN continuing education classes. 4)Assists in the testing of personnel for system entry. 5)Assists in the administration of ECRN and EMT exams in compliance with system policy. 6)Assists in maintaining the simulation equipment. 7)Assists to support public education programs on emergency medical systems related topics in response to community needs. 8)Assists in facilitating the internship process for provisional ECRNs and paramedics in compliance with system policies. 9)Assists with providing in-station continuing education classes for fire departments in GEA EMS system. 10)Collaborates all above activities with the EMS System Coordinator and members of the Greater Elgin Area EMS System.

  • System: 1)Maintains communication with paramedic crews to convey praise or opportunities for improvement. 2)Assists in maintaining adequate supply of paramedic equipment and supplies, as well as telemetry communication logsheets. 3)Assists with monitoring and insures maintenance of EMS radio to gain optimal communication with pre-hospital providers. 4)Assists in providing EMS personnel with Instructor Session Evaluation Tools. 5)Performs EMS vehicle inspections in coordination with IDPH Rules and Regulations. Attends and participates in multiple EMS system and hospital meetings including Liaison. 1)Stays abreast of changes in federal, state and local statues, regulations and procedures and recommends necessary changes to insure compliance. 2)Supports the trauma program as it relates to pre-hospital activities. Provides assistance to the Information Technologies Department with management of the EMS radios in the Emergency Department.
