- Range: $24.00 - $27.00 HourlyPosition Summary The Teacher Aide supports lead classroom teachers by facilitating small-group instruction, assisting with classroom management, and ensuring a well-organized, engaging learning environment for students. Assigned to specific grade levels, the Teacher Aide collaborates with educators to provide academic, social, and behavioral support while helping to implement instruction aligned with school standards and values. This position contributes to the daily operations of the classroom and participates in the broader life of the Lower School community. Essential Job Functions Instructional & Student Support Assist in small-group instruction in core academic areas, especially ELA and mathematics, under the direction of the classroom teacher Support teachers in administering and recording assessments using appropriate tools Collaborate with teachers to address individual student needs through differentiated support Provide academic, emotional, behavioral, and social support to students in a nurturing and respectful manner Step into the lead teacher role as needed (e.g., during group work, teacher absence, or transitions) Classroom Operations Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom activities as directed Assist with classroom setup, decoration, and organization to maintain an engaging and effective learning environment Complete routine clerical and instructional tasks such as grading, copying, and student work displays Supervise students throughout the school day, including during arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal Support specialty subject teachers with materials prep, behavior management, and communication with families Communication & Collaboration Maintain consistent, professional, and respectful communication with faculty, staff, students, and families Ensure smooth student transitions between classrooms and activities Collaborate effectively with classroom and grade-level teams to promote a cohesive learning experience Provide content (photos, updates) to support grade-level newsletters, parent communication, and yearbook entries Professional Responsibilities Embody and uphold the mission, values, and behavioral expectations of TVT Maintain professional work habits, including punctuality, reliability, and responsible time management Participate in school events and activities such as Back-to-School Night, Open House, Parent Conferences, and grade-level events Engage in professional development and instructional planning opportunities Other duties as assigned by the Lower School Division Head or classroom teacher Qualifications - Preferred Bachelor’s Degree Background in education or experience working with children in a school setting Proficiency with common classroom technology (interactive whiteboards, AV equipment, copy machines) Familiarity with software such as
