Key Responsibilities Mission-Driven Practice Embody and actively support TVT’s mission, vision, and values, including our Jewish ethos and pluralistic commitment. Foster inclusive, respectful classroom spaces where diverse identities and perspectives are honored. Partner with families in ways that build trust, empathy, and shared responsibility for student growth. Planning & Design Develop purposeful units and lessons grounded in essential questions, inquiry, and student-centered learning. Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners, including collaborating with the Student Support Team when needed. Embrace iterative practice—testing new approaches, reflecting, and refining instruction for impact. Instruction & Engagement Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons that integrate knowledge, skills, and innovation. Create joyful, rigorous classroom environments that encourage resilience and risk-taking. Collaborate across disciplines to design real-world, authentic learning experiences. Assessment & Responsiveness Use multiple forms of assessment, including performance tasks and authentic demonstrations of learning. Provide clear, timely, and actionable feedback that supports student growth. Promote a culture where feedback and mistakes are part of learning. Professional Practice & Reflection Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, pedagogy, and school initiatives. Contribute to the broader school community by supporting events, programs, and student life. Pursue professional learning and growth, staying current in both subject matter and best practices. Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and proactive communication. Innovation & Technology Integrate emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance student learning in ethical, purposeful ways. Design interdisciplinary, real-world projects that promote creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity. Share innovative ideas and practices with colleagues, fostering a culture of exploration and continuous improvement. Additional Responsibilities Participate in department, grade-level, and all-faculty meetings. Engage in extracurricular programs such as clubs, student organizations, and community events. Support enrollment management by showcasing TVT’s program during open houses and admissions events. Fulfill attendance expectations at major school gatherings (Back-to-School Night, Zman Kodesh, Kabbalat Shabbat, Town Halls, Holiday events, etc.). Chaperone required field trips and support signature Middle/Upper School experiences including Advisory (MS).. QualificationsQualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated teaching experience at the secondary level. Strong knowledge of adolescent development and pedagogical best practices. Facilitate with educational technology and willingness to engage with emerging tools.
