- Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the assistant football coach is a 12-month full-time position serving as the offensive coordinator.
- Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assists the head coach with all areas related to practice and game preparation including skill development, film review and developing offensive game plan.
- Serves as the offensive coordinator.
- Assists with all football operations.
- Recruits student-athletes within guidelines of William Paterson University and the NCAA.
- Works collaboratively with Office of Admissions.
- Monitors academic progress of student-athletes and develops and implements strategy for retention.
- Attends meetings, open house, and workshops as required.
- Represents the department at divisional and university wide functions.
- Supervises home games as described in site supervision manual for winter/spring athletic contests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications – the ideal candidate must have the following Required Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Three (3) or more years of coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and coach student-athlete.
- Proven track record applying and instructing sport specific skills, techniques, and strategies.
- Successful completion of the NCAA Division III rules test.
- Certification in CPR/AED.
- Proficient with Hudl, Microsoft Office and virtual communication (email, Teams, Zoom).
- Preferred Collegiate level football coaching experience as an offensive coordinator.
- Experience coaching the offensive line.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit qualified student-athletes at the collegiate level.

- Starting Salary - AFT Range 18 - $55,142.18 - $63,410.34 This position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
