Infant lead teacher

Hometown Health Center Childcare Program

Hometown Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Infant Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants. This role leads classroom operations, supports assistant teachers, and partners closely with families to support infant growth and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum for infants
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Lead and support classroom staff
  • Communicate daily with families through the Procare app
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
  • Participate in required trainings, meetings, and DHHS requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • CDA, Maine-approved credential, or qualifying childcare/college experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must pass DHHS background checks
  • Registered with Maine Roads to Quality or willing to become registered
