YMCA Silver Spring Swim Instructor

The swim instructor is responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans while ensuring the safety and discipline of all students in the pool area. They must also maintain accurate attendance and progress records and communicate effectively with participants and parents.

Candidates must possess valid cpr and first aid certifications and meet specific age and experience requirements based on the instructor level. Additional aquatic certifications are required, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as swimming and lifting 40 pounds is mandatory.
