Job description
Primary Responsibility
- BEST Summer Experience counselors will work on a team of 2-3 counselors to lead and support approximately 10 campers with disabilities, ages 17-22 during Summer Experience, June 1-5, 2026.
- BEST Summer Experience is for Accepted Fall 2026 BEST students only.
- May be Federal Work Study eligible.
Education
Counselors must be full-time Lipscomb University students with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Experience
• Experience working as a camp counselor and/or with students with disabilities is preferred.

Start/ End Date
• Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 5
Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend a training session with BEST staff before the end of the spring semester.
- Arrive on the Sunday before camp and depart once all clean-up has been completed on the last evening.
- Stay overnight in the dorms with campers, in a supervisory role.
- Prioritize all Summer Experience responsibilities for the length of the camp week.
- Serve as primary leaders/supervisors for all afternoon/ evening activities and in the dorms.
- Provide transportation to campers for off-campus outings and excursions.
- Monitor and participate in all camp activities, including activities that might be physically demanding.
- Lead team games and sports and monitor students' free time
