Instructors are responsible for delivering a standardized sports curriculum to youth in NYC parks while creating a safe and inclusive environment. They must also manage equipment, track participant attendance, and communicate effectively with families and community members.
Candidates must have strong playing ability in their assigned sport and experience working with youth in instructional settings. A commitment to girls' empowerment and the ability to travel between various park sites are required.
City Parks Foundation’s Girls Forward program, in partnership with Nike, provides free, girls-only beginner sports programming for middle- and high-school–aged (13-16) youth across New York City parks. Girls Forward creates welcoming, supportive spaces where girls can build confidence, leadership skills, and a lifelong connection to movement through sport. Girls Forward Instructors are trained to deliver a standardized, inclusive curriculum developed by City Parks Foundation and are seasonal employees of CPF’s Sports Department. Programming takes place citywide, though staff are typically assigned to sites within their borough of residence.
We are seeking part-time Girls Forward Sports Instructors to deliver programming in soccer, tennis, golf, and track & field.
$18 - $35.00 per hour based on experience (7-35 hours per week)

We also administer the NYC Green Fund, a regranting program for parks and open space nonprofits and grassroots organizations.
We produce SummerStage, the iconic free, outdoor performing arts festival in NYC, presenting world-class artists from across the globe and our own neighborhoods on our mainstage in Central Park and in local parks in all five boroughs, and our Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and roving PuppetMobile present marionette puppet theater throughout New York City.
We connect youngsters to nature in the urban environment through progressive, experiential teaching. Using parks as classrooms, we provide learning experiences and hands-on activities in urban forests, coastal areas, and gardens.
Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. City Parks Foundation does not offer visa sponsorship.
