The educator will provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to elementary students in resource and inclusive settings. They are responsible for developing and maintaining IEPs while collaborating with staff and families to track student progress.
We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the school year. This is a high-priority position, and the district is prepared to move quickly with qualified candidates.
In this role, you will support elementary students across resource and inclusive classroom settings by delivering individualized instruction and implementing effective behavioral supports. You will work closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality services that promote both academic and social-emotional growth.
Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and track student progress over time. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, evaluations, and collaborative planning efforts. Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs in accordance with North Carolina and federal regulations. Partner with general education teachers to promote inclusive classroom practices and student success. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of IDEA regulations and the IEP development process. A valid North Carolina Special Education teaching license is required, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment. Applicants must also hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
