  • Position: Assist in planning and organizing all phases of a NCAA Division II
  • Women’s

  • Program, including, but not limited to the following: recruiting, developing each student-athlete on and off the court, game preparation, team travel coordination, hiring work study employees, fundraising, community involvement, and coordinator of summer camps and clinics. Build relationships with AAU/High School Coaches/Programs in and out of the state of Michigan. Must be organized and able to adjust in a quick changing environment. Must have knowledge in Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and Spry. Must be prepared to show you have the passion to be an integral part of taking this program to the next level.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered

  • Two years of experience as an assistant coach at a NCAA Division 1 or 11 women's basketball program.

  • Duties/Responsibilities: Evaluate performance and instruct non-professional athletes.

Assist the Head Coach in coordinating fundraising, camps, and public relations to create a positive image for the University and to enhance revenues.

Coordinate a staff of student employees to effectively accomplish the administrative tasks to run an efficient program.

Analyze video for the current team and scout opponents.

Oversee the daily practice of players and determine individual or team improvement needs.

Effectively teach basketball skills, including weight lifting and conditioning programs.

Take initiative in the recruiting process.

Identify future needs prior to recruiting season by watching videos and attending recruiting events.

Recruit, direct, and motivate student-athletes for success on and off the playing court.

Provide a positive learning environment and mentor the student-athletes.

Support and monitor student-athletes' academic progress.

Maintain effective liaison between FSU instructors, sports medicine staff, and all athletic staff.

Coordinate and execute team travel

Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.

Operates university motorized vehicles in a safe manner while performing job duties.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Represent the University at conferences and seminars related to athletics.
