Market context
Kansas healthcare employers and nursing programs continue to need experienced clinicians who can teach in complex adult health and critical care settings, especially where clinical placements and faculty coverage are limited. These roles are competitive because they typically require an advanced nursing degree, an unencumbered Kansas license, and recent professional experience; this platform’s AI-summarized requirements and benefits help you review the original posting faster. Before applying, confirm your Kansas licensure status and be ready to show how your bedside experience supports student supervision and clinical instruction.
The clinical instructor implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, and objectives through clinical teaching and service, assuming responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments. This includes planning clinical experiences, providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students, and grading student work.
Candidates must possess a master's or doctoral degree in Nursing and hold an unencumbered professional nursing license in Kansas, with an Illinois license required before accepting clinical contracts. A minimum of two years of professional experience as a registered nurse in the area of instruction within the last five years is required, though teaching or precepting experience is preferred.
