- AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven 3rd Grade ELA & Social Studies Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that strengthens scholars’ reading comprehension, writing skills, historical thinking, and civic understanding.

- Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks for English Language Arts and Social Studies.
- Build strong foundational literacy skills including reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary development, and critical thinking.
- Guide students through grade-level texts and writing tasks to prepare them for upper elementary rigor.
- Introduce students to key historical concepts, civic responsibility, and cultural understanding through engaging Social Studies instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and interventions.
- Classroom Culture & Student Support Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies to support student behavior and engagement.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Encourage respectful discussion, collaboration, and curiosity during lessons.
- Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to continuously improve instructional practices.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives focused on literacy development and student achievement.
- Engage in ongoing reflection and use data to improve instructional effectiveness.
- Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.
- Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.
- Provide families with strategies and resources to support reading and writing development at home.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Valid teaching certification in a relevant subject area, OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (e.g., Education, English, Literature, History, Social Studies, Elementary Education, or similar field), OR Minimum of three (3) years of K–8 teaching experience Additionally, candidates must: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual learner communities Possess strong analytical abilities and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction Demonstrate collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment Pass required background checks and obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Compensation & Benefits AMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.
