Manhattan Children’s Center (MCC) is seeking a positive, dynamic Occupational Therapist that is interested in joining a therapeutic team where the goal is to offer every child the opportunity to thrive.

About Manhattan Children’s Center

Manhattan Children’s Center is a world-class educational and therapeutic facility for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Students ages 5 - 21 years and their families are supported through a transdisciplinary model. We are distinguished through our commitment to realizing each child’s potential as an individual, as a family member, and as a valued, functional member of the community.

Due to the complex and challenging nature of ASD, our education and training model incorporates a one-to-one instructional approach facilitated by: ABA, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Through Peer Instruction, and Family Training.

Mentorship

  • At MCC we facilitate a structured and consistent ecosystem of supervision and mentorship.
  • Whether experienced or not, staff therapists participate in weekly supervision meetings that are part of their schedule to discuss intervention plans and any related issues for each of the students on their caseload.
  • In addition, co-treats for each student on the therapist's caseload are scheduled on a recurring basis with a minimum frequency of once a month.
  • The department meets as a group once a week and we conduct a monthly journal club.
  • Furthermore, training workshops from OT's, SLP's and ABA supervisors are provided throughout the year and we also provide a stipend for continuing education courses.
  • Staff therapists work closely with their supervisors to develop annual treatment goals and semi annual progress reports.
