  • Academies of Math and Science English Language Coordinator Location: 434 W Lerdo Rd, Tucson AZ, 05706 Start Date: 5/18/2026 Compensation Range: $17-$18/hour (DOE) Position Overview Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.
  • AMS is seeking a detail-oriented and student-centered English Learner Coordinator to support both instructional and compliance components of the English Learner (EL) program.
  • This role is critical in ensuring students receive targeted language development support while maintaining full compliance with state and federal Title III requirements.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Assessments & ELD, the ELD Paraprofessional will collaborate with teachers and staff to support English Learners through small group instruction, assessment administration, and accurate program documentation.
  • This role requires a highly organized individual who is committed to supporting multilingual learners and contributing to a structured, data-driven educational environment.
  • Key Responsibilities Instructional Support Collaborate with ELD teachers to support targeted language instruction aligned to student proficiency levels.
  • Provide small group instructional support to students in ELD and Target ELD classes.
  • Support the development of students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional support and interventions.
  • Assist in creating a structured and supportive learning environment for multilingual learners.
  • Assessment & Compliance Complete required training for AZELLA placement and reassessment testing.
  • Administer AZELLA placement and reassessment tests (online and paper-pencil formats).
  • Interpret AZELLA and other assessment results to support program implementation.
  • Identify EL student eligibility through review of registration and academic records.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal Title III requirements.
  • Data Management & Documentation Accurately enter AZELLA placement and reassessment data into required systems (e.g., PAN, PowerSchool, ADEConnect).
  • Prepare and distribute Parent Notification and Consent forms for EL program participation.
  • Maintain organized and compliant EL student files, including Active EL, FEP1, FEP2, and other required categories.
  • Track and monitor return of required compliance documentation.
  • Reconcile EL program reports to ensure accurate student data and participation records.
  • Complete required monitoring documentation for reclassified students (FEP1 & FEP2).
  • Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities Participate in EL team meetings and network training sessions.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student success and program implementation.
  • Maintain inventory and organization of AZELLA testing materials and EL program supplies.
  • Support school-wide initiatives focused on student achievement and language development.
