About the role

The teacher implements instructional programs tailored to student needs and maintains a safe, orderly learning environment. They also collaborate with staff and parents while monitoring and assessing student achievement.

This is a 1.0 FTE located at Innovation Elementary School.

Responsibilities

Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials. Maintains safe and orderly environment. Communicates with parents/guardians. Maintains complete and accurate student records. Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members. Monitors and assesses student achievement. Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.

Experience

Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas. Knowledge of best instructional practices. Ability to integrate technology. Experience in educational and instructional leadership.

Qualifications

Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Special Education endorsement. Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Salary

Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule. Requirements

Candidates must hold or be eligible for Virginia licensure with a Special Education endorsement. Experience in instructional leadership and the ability to integrate technology into the classroom are required.
