Position Summary

The School of Education invites applications for Adjunct Instructor of Education to teach graduate and undergraduate special education courses. The start date is Summer semester 2026.

All employees must understand the mission of Catholic higher education and be committed to the core values, mission, goals and objectives of Holy Family University.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, preferably at the higher education level.

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

Teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses in a variety of formats, including face-to-face and online (asynchronous and synchronous) following the University’s academic standards and guidelines.

Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom

Facilitate active learning experiences and practical exercises to enhance student comprehension and application of educational concepts.

Provide grades and feedback to students in a timely manner.

Respond to email correspondence from Deans, Coordinators, and students in a timely manner.

Use the Learning Management System (CANVAS) appropriately for all classes.

Utilize advising software (CRM Advise) to identify student issues and alert support offices within the university in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Special Education teacher, preferably in PA
  • Master’s Degree in Education, earned doctorate preferred.
  • Experience teaching special education in K-12 schools

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Education and possess Special Education teacher certification, preferably in Pennsylvania. Experience teaching special education in K-12 schools is required, along with a commitment to the mission of Catholic higher education.
