The Youth Development Professional plans and implements educational and recreational programs to foster academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character in youth. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment while managing program supplies and equipment.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess the ability to remain positive and energetic in a busy environment. Prior experience working with youth is preferred, and applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Youth Development Professional is responsible for helping to implement a variety of programs and activities that lead to three priority outcomes for youth: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Youth Development Professionals work with youth and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills.
