- HealthFitness, in partnership with the Cornerstone Aquatics Center, is thrilled to offer exciting opportunities for Assistant Swim Coaches at our state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. facility in West Hartford, CT.
Hours
- 15 hours per week, Evenings and weekends Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for swim team participants. Attends swim meets and team functions throughout the year, and is responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for the swim team participants.
- Key
- Accountabilities: Assist head coach in creating thorough, age-appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, and practice drills Participate in structured practices in weekday evenings throughout the year Assist head coach with administrative matters relating to the team, swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as interaction with parents Help to record all workouts and track daily attendance Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations and recording times and collecting other relevant data at swim meets; attend swim team events such as meets, meetings, social events, etc. at the direction of the head coach; assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment Assist in stroke clinics (if any) offered between competitive seasons Participate in coach training opportunities offered by the head coach Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for swim team participants

- Minimum
- Requirements: American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification. Possesses (or can obtain upon hire) USA swimming coaching credentials Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics and be able to communicate effectively with swimmers and their parents Will work on weekends at swim meets
- Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills
- Preferred: 1+ years swim coach experience 18 years of age 3+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer; collegiate competitive swimming experience Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
Compensation
$17.54-$23.00 per hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
