Job description

The Bilingual Youth Counselor designs, implements and monitors Intervention Preference Tools for students that are based on thorough assessments and collaboration with Seneca Therapist and team, school staff, and significant others in student’s life. Additionally, the Counselor provides services to students in the home and community settings, alongside coordinating services as needed at school sites. On campus, theCounselormay provide coaching, redirection and modeling to students and school staff. The Bilingual Youth Counselor collaboratively provides short-term services to stabilize the family and promote academic and social emotional success for the youth.

Responsibilities

  • Complete mental health notes, Intervention Preference Tool, incident reports, and other documentation as necessary in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Complete Intervention Preference Tools
  • Form consultation relationships with school staff, including general and special educators and school leadership.
  • Provide direct interventions to students as appropriate.
  • Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the Seneca Programs.
  • Provide case management, coordination of care and crisis management services as needed
  • Facilitate client sessions, attend trainings, individual supervision, and group supervision."
  • Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to plan, manage and supervise students’ treatment plans.
  • Engage families in the treatment planning process.
  • Provide strength-based and culturally competent services.
  • Participate in professional learning communities to enhance practice and create coherence.
  • Conduct community resource development.
  • Maintain a client and family driven schedule that may include early mornings and evenings.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of client information.
  • Travel throughout Orange County with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

Required • Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Experience implementing family-focused services (preferred).
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs.
  • Experience implementing family-focused services.

Schedule • Full-time • Monday - Friday 10am - 6

  • 30pm (client driven schedule)
  • Hybrid; provide in-person services and complete documentation remotely

Benefits

  • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
