Schedule

  • 16 hours/week M–F
  • Location: One of our school sites in Montgomery or PG County. You’ll support holistic student success, family engagement, and community development through direct work with students, caregivers, and school partners. Who You’ll Work With Care Manager and Mental Health Therapist (primary collaboration) Community School Liaison and other school staff QualificationsKey Responsibilities Co-facilitate weekly school-based groups for parents and students in collaboration with a Care Manager and Mental Health Therapist. Group topics may include social-emotional skill development, parenting strategies, goal setting, and English conversation practice. Support case management services for a small caseload (approximately 1–2 students/families) under close supervision. Responsibilities may include conducting intakes and initial assessments, contributing to service plan development, tracking goals, and connecting families to appropriate community and school-based resources. Assist with ongoing case documentation, follow-up, and coordination with internal team members and school partners, in alignment with program guidelines and ethical standards. Participate in family engagement activities and school-based community events, including planning and supporting initiatives such as food drives, clothing drives, and other school-based projects. Attend required supervision, trainings, and team meetings to support learning, skill development, and delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive services. Qualifications Must be enrolled in a BA/BS or masters level program in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field and receiving school credit for the internship. Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with multicultural, immigrant, and low-income families. Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics. Reliable, flexible, and able to collaborate in a school-based environment. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
