The resident physician provides direct patient care and assumes increasing responsibility for diagnosis and treatment under the supervision of attending staff. They also participate in surgical procedures and contribute to the education of interns and medical students.

Candidates must be graduates of an approved college of podiatric medicine with a minimum gpa of 3.0 and have passed parts 1 and 2 of the nbopme. Additionally, they must hold current bls and acls certifications and be registered with the florida board of podiatric medicine.
