Position Summary
The student math tutors assist undergraduate students in a variety of math subjects ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus 1 in our Math Tutoring Center and/or Math Lab, as well as attend regular Friday training sessions.

Essential Functions
- In the Plass Math Lab, assist with supporting learning in undergraduate students primarily in gateway math courses (college algebra, contemporary college math, introduction to statistics). Work with math department to set schedules for the semester typically between the hours of 8am - 6pm.
- In the Morgan Math Tutoring Center, student tutors assist with supporting learning in undergraduate students primarily in lower division math courses (up to Calculus 1, or Statistics). Student Tutors will work with the math department to set schedules for the semester typically between the hours of 9am -3pm.
Non-Essential Functions
• Keep the tutoring area clean and organized.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Calculus II with an A or B grade to tutor in Morgan Math Tutoring Center.
- Completion of Statistics with an A or B grade to tutor in Plass Math Lab.
- Students who are hired for both Morgan and Plass and have worked for at least one full academic semester may also be scheduled during evenings or weekend hours.
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent mathematical skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous tutoring experience is not needed but helpful.
