  • Summary: Under the direction of the Administrative Director, the Credentialed Teacher for Math is entrusted with guiding the educational journey of assigned students by constructing a dynamic and adaptable program, fostering a classroom atmosphere that promotes both academic excellence and personal development. Duties and Responsibilities

Continuously enhance and further your subject matter expertise. Stay updated with the latest instructional methodologies, curricular innovations, and assessment strategies. Design comprehensive lesson plans that successfully achieve state learning standards and specific grade-level expectations outlined by the charter. Strategically plan and deliver lessons aligned with the school's approved curriculum objectives. Collaborate with fellow educators to synchronize lesson plans, promoting interdisciplinary learning and reinforcing student knowledge by teaching similar topics concurrently. Provide both direct and indirect instructional support to students. Engage in long-term and short-term strategic planning tailored to meet individual student needs. Prepare students thoroughly for all required assignments and assessments. Monitor and evaluate student progress systematically. Utilize student assessment data to inform and guide effective instruction. Compile and present at least quarterly individual student achievement reports to parents. Create a stimulating, engaging, and innovative learning environment for students. Implement effective and appropriate classroom management techniques. Embrace and integrate feedback and coaching from school administrators. Act as a mentor and advisor to students, including organizing advisory groups and overseeing their academic and behavioral development. Leverage technology to enrich and support instruction. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required; Degree in the subject they will teach or direct subject-area teaching experience. Possess a valid California Teaching Credential. Teaching experience in a public or private school required Must have an English Learner Authorization. Tuberculosis (TB) test clearance is required Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan clearance is required Knowledge of and Ability to: Demonstrated expertise in the subject they will teach, evidenced by personal skills and knowledge, graduate, undergraduate major or minor. Communicate effectively with parents and community regarding goals and objectives of the instructional program, pupil progress observed, needs or problems and special accomplishments. Demonstrates effective two-way communication with pupils and employs appropriate techniques to meet individual needs and abilities of pupils. Demonstrated ability and experience to engage the interest of school-age children. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs. Demonstrated ability to work well with parents. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member. Demonstrated ability to evaluate tests and measurements of achievement. Demonstrated willingness to be held accountable for student results. Work Environment: The environmental characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. El Camino Real Charter High School is a campus environment for students, faculty and staff. There is a moderate noise level, with schedule bells ringing throughout the day and staff using walkie-talkies. This position requires daily interaction with students, parents, faculty and staff. This position works in a variety of settings including classrooms and outdoors and may experience heat or cold extremes as well as fumes, odors, dust; noise level is moderate to loud. Physical Requirements: Spend most of the day standing and sitting in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold light objects they are working with and demonstrating, etc. These can be held from waist level to slightly above the teacher’s head. Teacher must be able to walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Dealing with students can entail kneeling or squatting, stopping and bending from 50-70 degrees at the waist on an occasional to frequent basis on a given day. The teacher often moves students’ desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence teaching situations. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The teacher must sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc. Sitting at a desk with a forward bending from the waist, leaning on forearms, and looking down which requires neck flexion.
