Who we are
Shineforth’s Charterhouse School-Richmond campus is a private day special education school that serves students from around the central Virginia area. Our K-12 school partners with local school systems to provide education in students' least restrictive environment. Charterhouse School is licensed through the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and accredited through the Virginia Association of Independent Special Education Facilities (VAISEF).
Who we serve
We serve students in grades K-12 with a variety of educational and/or social/emotional needs. All of our students have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Staff work with students on their individual goals and provide instruction aligned with Virginia SOL curriculum. Our small class sizes and a student to staff ratio of 8:2 allow for more individualized instruction and support.
What we are looking for
An Elementary Applied Curriculum Teacher who will provide the educational environment where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for growth. Candidates will have the ability to work collaboratively with the support staff in the classroom to best meet the academic and social needs of the students.
What you will need
A Virginia teaching license in Special Education, preferably Applied Curriculum.
