Special Education Teacher, Extended Content Standards I

The teacher coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for special education students, including the development and implementation of individual education programs (Ieps). They monitor student progress, adapt instructional materials, and maintain a safe, conducive learning environment while collaborating with school staff and families.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and a north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is also required, with preferred qualifications including first aid, cpr, and cpi certifications.
