Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or related field preferred Experience working with youth (ages 8-18) in an after-school, school, or community setting preferred Experience leading group activities, sports, or enrichment programs strongly preferred Knowledge & Skills Ability to manage and supervise groups of up to 10-12 students Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic understanding of youth development and behavior management Ability to plan and facilitate structured activities (academic, recreational, or creative) Ability to follow schedules and program routines (3 PM - 6 PM) or (10 AM-2 PM) Strong organization and time management skills Core Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety of all assigned students at all times Facilitate daily structured activities, including: Homework time Group Activities Recreational/athletic programming Maintain student engagement and participation Reinforce program expectations and positive behavior Track and maintain daily attendance and sign-in sheets Assist with program events (e.g., Bingo nights, contests, activities) Support program setup and cleanup daily Program-Specific Expectations Encourage academic completion before activities Promote teamwork, leadership, and social-emotional development Participate in outdoor activities (weather permitting) Assist with monthly themed programming Support student recruitment and community engagement efforts Operational Responsibilities Prepare and distribute snacks and materials Maintain and clean program equipment and activity spaces Follow opening and closing procedures, including securing the facility Report incidents, concerns, or supply needs to supervisor Work Requirements Availability during program hours: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM -6:00 PM / Summer Hours: 10:00am-2:00pm Ability to work occasional evening events (e.g., Bingo Nights) Reliable attendance and punctuality required Clearances & Compliance Must pass background check and fingerprinting Ability to comply with Burlington County and agency policies Completion of any required trainings and onboarding requirements Preferred Qualities Energetic, positive, and engaging personality Ability to take initiative and work independently Strong role model for youth Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS: A Group Leader is responsible for creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment where students can learn, grow, and participate in meaningful after-school activities.
