Position Title

Classroom Teacher Division: School-Level Reports To: Principal or Designee FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Schedule: Teacher Work Days: 190

Essential Duties

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 2. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established guidelines. 3. Instruct and monitor students. 4. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. 5. Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines. 6. Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work. 7. Observe and assess student performance and development. 8. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development. 9. Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments. 10. Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings. 11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's professional qualifications. 2. Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community. 3. Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. 4. Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators. 5. Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. 6. Ability to be present at the physical worksite. 7. Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. 8. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. 9. Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations. 10. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
