Job description

Position Summary

The University of Akron Wayne College is seeking part-time nursing clinical/lab faculty to join our growing Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program for the upcoming 2026 fall semester. The Part-Time Clinical/Lab Faculty member is responsible for teaching and supervising ADN students in clinical and/or lab settings. This role focuses on facilitating student learning, ensuring safe patient care, and evaluating student performance in alignment with course and program outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical and/or laboratory instruction in the assigned specialty area Supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring safe and professional practice Facilitate student learning through demonstration, guidance, and feedback Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress Collaborate with lead course faculty and the program director to ensure consistency in instruction and evaluation Serve as a professional role model for students in both clinical and lab environments Maintain regular office hours to support student learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university Current, unencumbered Ohio RN license Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in specialty area Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and clinical partners

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or currently enrolled from an accredited university Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience Experience working with ADN students or in academic settings Additional
