Position Summary

This position is for the University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM. The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face or online courses during the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters in the Liberal Arts & Education Division. Adjunct faculty hired from this pool will be expected to teach and/or develop the following possible courses:

FYEX 1010 Foundational Math FYEX 1020 Math Learning Strategies FYEX 1030 Critical Text Analysis FYEX 1110 First-Year Seminar FYEX 1120 College Success UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse student population with 100+ full time and part-time faculty members. We are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor’s degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training, and personal enrichment courses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high school populations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High School, and the Center for Career and Technical Education.

The Liberal Arts & Education Division at the UNM Gallup Branch is seeking a qualified temporary part-time faculty member to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times that may include face-to-face, evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, the current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Wages Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads.

Salary Range

$3,405.78 - $3,684.71 per three-credit hour.
