Job description
- Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system at University of Chicago Medicine as a Student Intern in our Radiology Department.
- Our Radiology Internship program, “Options to Opportunity” provides a space for networking and career exposure for young adults with expressed interest in radiologic technologist careers.
- The ideal candidate is someone currently in or preparing for enrollment into a local radiologic technologist (2 year- Associate Level) educational program.
- Professional development activities led by current career professionals will offer our interns value added insights that will prepare them for future career success.
- Daily activity of the summer intern will be done under the direct supervision of program leader and/or assigned clinical preceptor to ensure best practice for both personal and patient safety.
- This position is a 100% onsite opportunity.
- You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
- Essential Job Functions
- Participates in professional development activities including projects and presentations as assigned
- Documents observations and lessons learned while shadowing with assigned clinical mentor/preceptor.
- Supports efficient patient flow by assist patients to and from exam room including patient wayfinding as needed.
- Participates in requiring training activity to ensure best practice and adherence to standards for patient safety, and environment safety.
- Prepares and stocks exam rooms in clinical area by following established protocols for disinfecting and cleaning equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by program leadership, supervisor or manager.

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 24 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the day shift, Monday-Thursday, from approximately 9:00am-3:30pm and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
