Independent Living Skills Trainer

The independent living skills trainer provides training to visually impaired individuals to improve their daily functioning and independence in home and community settings. They also facilitate group activities, conduct outreach, and collaborate with other departments to connect consumers with necessary resources.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, or rehabilitation, with a preference for certified occupational therapy assistant credentials. Experience in providing direct services to individuals with disabilities, particularly blindness, and the ability to conduct home visits are required.
