Job description

  • We are looking for a wonderful Lead Teacher for our Get Set/Early Preschool classroom.
  • Lead Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes.
  • Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!
  • Our lead teachers need to have a minimum of 1 year of experience with an ECE credential, have a good understanding of classroom management, work well with other teachers, and of course love working with children.
  • We also expect teachers to follow our Health and Safety guidelines and communicate well with parents.
  • Must be available 7:00 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field1, including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours2 of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool. An Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field1 and 1 year of experience (1560 clock hours)2 working in a licensed childcare center or preschool and 1 year of management experience. An Associate’s degree or higher in a related field1, including 18 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and 2 years (3120 clock hours) 2 of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool, and 1 year of management experience. A current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential, and an additional 12 semester hours or continuing education units in courses related to young children birth to age 8[1], and 2 years (3120 clock hours)[2] of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool, and 1 year of management experience.

Responsibilities

Develop lesson plans. Meet the individual needs of the children Communicate with parents. Participate in staff and training meetings. Design an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom. Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. Present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level. Plan and implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills. Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff. Build teamwork. Use assessment tools. Commit to continuing education.
