Job description

  • Lego Robotics Instructor - Northside Family YMCA The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lego Robotics Instructor for a K-5 Lego Program at the Northside Family YMCA.
  • Program participants will engage in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics) learning through Lego builds, coding, and collaboration.
  • This part-time position pays $20/hr.
  • DUTIES of a Lego Robotics Instructor Lego Instructor will work closely with the Regional Director of Community Outreach to implement a Lego Robotics program for elementary school students.
  • Specific duties include facilitating Lego curriculum and making real-world connections, monitoring participant progress and making adjustments; working to create a safe and productive learning environment; providing mentorship to volunteers; and supervising scholars in in-person day to day activities as well as special functions, such as field trips.
  • QUALIFICATIONS of a Lego Robotics Instructor Candidates must have at least one year of related experience, with at least six months experience working with youth.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and technological skills.
  • Strong relationship building, mentoring, communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and service to diverse populations.
